The aluminium R23m is built to Uniform Shipping Laws Code (USLC) Class 2B. Most of the hull components were assembled from plasma cut components created after 3D modelling of the complete hull and deck structures - as explained in Aluminium Kits.
Accommodation is based on a pilot house saloon and large covered cockpit - giving plenty of entertainment area, 3 cabins with en-suites and another 4 berth cabin forward.
There is a large lazarette aft, plus sail locker and anchor locker forward, giving plenty of stowage.
Sail controls - headsail furler, in-boom furler and power winches are hydraulically powered. Also hydraulically powered are the anchor winches (2 x 180lb ploughs) and the bow thruster.
The main engine is a 255hp caterpillar engine. Hydraulics are run from electrically operated systems or power take off from the engine.
The yacht is fully airconditioned. Other equipment includes vacu-flush toilet systems, desalinators and a large generator. Fuel capacity is approximately 5000ltrs for long range cruising.
Overall, a well equipped, very well built, world class cruising yacht.
